Loving father, son and brother, Christopher “Chris” Alan Mocniak, age 39, of Lapeer passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital.
Chris was born October 17, 1983 in Lapeer, MI to Mike and Sherry (Malkowski) Mocniak. He grew up on the farm and had a fond interest in machinery and tractors. He loved animals, especially the family dogs. Chris graduated from Mayville High School with the Class of 2002. He worked in golf course grounds maintenance his entire adult life. Chris loved the sport and was an avid golfer himself. Along with playing on the High School Golf Team, Chris would go on to coach the Mayville Golf Team and participated in assisting the Flint Junior Golf Program. Along with golf, Chris also enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes.
Chris was a devoted father to his children Colton and Ashlyn. He loved them dearly. Chris was a kind, gentle and generous man. He often gave blood and, as a final act of generosity, was an organ and tissue donor. Chris had a comedic heart who connected with people through jokes and movie lines. His smile was infectious and endearing. Chris will be greatly missed.
Chris is survived by his children, Colton and Ashlyn Lloyd; his parents, Mike and Sherry Mocniak; his brother, Jeffrey; his foster sister, Jenny; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and his K9 friend, Kirbie.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Loretta Mocniak and Leo and Jean Malkowski.
