Keith Fredrick Mead
April 25, 1934 - January 3, 2025
Born Keith Fredrick Turner to Roy and (Helen) Lucille Turner at his Grandparents’ home in Fairgrove, MI on April 25, 1934.
After the death of his parents, Keith was adopted by Lewis and Pearl (Turner) Mead in Mayville MI, where he was reared on the family farm. He attended Dayton Center Church and was led of the Lord to become a pastor. Keith attended Moody Bible Institute of Chicago in 1954-1955 and came back to marry the love of his life, Anna May Kilmer on August 3, 1956. He served in the Army during 1956-1958 and was honorably discharged to go home and care for his aging parents. Keith attended Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac MI (night school), while working at the Marlette trailer factory for 4 years. He was led to a pastoral position at Clifford Baptist Church in 1959, at the same time as working at the factory. It was while he attended Midwestern that he met 2 other pastors who were instrumental in starting Camp Michael near Imlay City, MI. Keith loved this ministry (Camp Michael and the church), the Lord Jesus, the Bible, his wife and family as well as the people he served. He and Anna May started their family of four children from 1959 to 1969. They were called to Ministry at People’s Baptist Church in Columbiaville, MI in 1971 where they remained until “retirement” in 2005. Keith remained active in the ministry being the interim pastor for many churches (Marlette Baptist, Mills Memorial and Dayton Center) and stepped in for many churches at a moment’s notice. He continued teaching Sunday school at Dayton Center Church where he was a beloved member.
Keith answered the call to Heaven on January 3, 2025, at 5:18 pm after a brief time on
hospice/respite care. Left to carry on his ministry are his family which grew from 4 children to
19 grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. He is survived by his son David (Michelle) Mead and
Mary Kay (David) Sanders

His greatest desire was to see his whole family come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ
as well as anyone he could possibly minister about salvation and going to Heaven.
The family will receive visitors from 10 AM -1 PM on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Dayton Center Church with a Funeral Service being held at 1 PM with Pastor Del Terpenning officiating. Military Honors will follow by United States Honor Guard and Mayville American Legion Post 181 and VFW Post 10884.
